Premier League Darts Finals 2017

The best Premier League Darts betting tips and best odds for 2017 Premier League.

With the Premier League Darts final, only a sort time away the remaining eight players will fight it out for one of the four play-off places.

The odds-on favourite to see his way through to the final and win the 2017 Premier League title is Michael van Gerwen. The Dutch star won a staggering 25 TV and floor titles in 2016 and is the defending Premier League Champion.  Michael has taken over where Phil ‘the Power’ Taylor has left off by rewritten some of the record books.

Michael faced Phil Taylor in the 2016 Premier League Final, beating him conveniently 11-3. He also faced Phil again for the first time in week seven of the 2017 Premier League and again showed his dominance with a 7-4 victory. However, Phil was unhappy with a springy floor and made his feelings known to the on-stage referee but it was unlikely the match was going to be stopped so both players just had to get on and play.

is likely that Phil Taylor won’t feature in the Premier League in 2018, that is, unless he wins this year’s event.

Phil is in his retirement year and has said unless he is invited or has qualified for an event on merit he won’t be playing in the majority of the PDC Darts events next year. Phil decided not to go through the qualifying round of the 2017 UK Open and will not be chasing for further qualification after 2017. He would love however to win another title before this year is finished and he just may have that final match in him.

Gary AndersonGary Anderson seems to have gone under the radar in recent weeks. Losing to Raymond van Barneveld at the Ahoy Stadium in Rotterdam seems to have dented the World No.2 however he has won the Premier League title on two occasions, 2011 and 2015. Gary will still likely be in the mix at the O2 Area play-off finals on the 18th May and could lift the trophy again.

Raymond van Barneveld is a man on a mission. The rejuvenated Barney is back on form to the delight of his many fans. A rare win over the world No1 Michael van Gerwen in week eight has given Barny the confidence that he was missing only a few months ago.  In successive weeks Barney, has beaten both the World No1 and No.2 and is back in the form of his life.

Barney won the Premier League in 2014 and be an outside bet to win again this year.

One player to mention is Peter Wright. Since winning the UK Open at the beginning March he hasn’t shown top form but is a likely contender to be in the play-off finals. Peter ’Snakebite’ Wright is a crowd pleaser and there will be a lot of loyal fans believing he will be winning more titles this year.

James WadeJames Wade is another player that has won the Premier League title in the past but like Adrian Lewis and Dave Chisnall they all will have to show some positive results if they want to make the final cut.

Dave Chisnall narrowly escaped elimination in week 9 and has yet to impress. Kim Huybrechts and Jelle Klaasen were the first victims of the 2017 league and Dave Chisnall after week nine is a likely contender to follow suit. Whether we will see Kim or Jelle in the 2018 Premier league is debatable. Only the top four PDC ranked players automatically receive an invitation to play, the remaining are Sky Sports TV and PDC wild cards. Next year could see a big change.
